Landlocked developing countries (LLDC) are developing countries that are landlocked.1 The economic and other disadvantages experienced by such countries tends to place some of them amongst the Least Developed Countries (LDC) in the world. The United Nations has an Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States.
